Also called pruno, prison wine is an alcoholic beverage made discreetly in prison cells. Ingredients can include fruit, ketchup, sugar, milk, and crumbled bread to provide yeast for the fermenting process. Prisoners only need hot water, a plastic bag and a towel or sock to catch the pulp during fermentation. Prison wine is the drink of those at the end of their rope.
