Quite possibly the most annoying feature on Microsoft Word.

Damn! I just erased half my sentence because Overtype was on!

overtype mode

The biggest bitch in word processing programs. Ever. There is absolutey no point to this feature. At all.

I wrote my twelve page essay on quatum mechanics only to find a mispelled word on the third sentence of my second paragraph with overtype mode on. Needless to say, I was not happy.
