Noun. A nickname given by/to oneself solely to boost one's (self-)image. Also: onanickname.

I refuse to call him "The Wonder Boy." That's such a horrible onanym I wonder if anyone ever calls him, period.

Ontanym (noun): A term coined in jest to depict the humorous and exaggerated mangling or mispronunciation of a complex word, often employed as a playful commentary on linguistic challenges or verbal missteps.

He made that word into an Ontanym. He absolutely mangled it.
