Generally found on the internet or any gaming society of any sort. There is an uprising of noobs on Modern Warfare 2. To avoide these people on MW2:
1: Do not go into game chat, but if you do, mute everyone except your friends
2:Do not talk to anyone because this can lead to a noob randomly jumping into your conversation and insultin you, your mother, your pets, anything anf everything.
There are also characteristics of noobs:
1: They are complete douchebags to everyone.
2: They lack skill at a game and scream at you if you kill them
3: They often call other people noobs and refuse to listen to any form of Authority.
Now that you know how to identify a noob, you can have a better gaming experience.

They are not to be confused with the term 'newb', which is someone who is simply new to something and willing to learn more about it. A noob is so convinced that they know absolutely everything about 'insert game here' that they begin typing in near-illegible sentences, commonly known as 'leetspeak'.

A person who intentionally displays poor grammatical skills. These individuals are most prominant on the internet and online games and like to use acronyms such as STFU (Shut The Fuck Up), FTL (For The Lose), and and OMGWTF (Oh My God, What The Fuck). They will use these mash up of words at any and all given opportunities.
In the gaming spectrum, a Noob is not someone who is new to a game. That would be a Newbie. There is nothing wrong with being a newbie as you have to learn somewhere. However, a Noob is a person who has had some experience with a game, but still plays it poorly, acts like an asshat, and insists that they are elite (1337 in their own words) and that everyone else in the game is a "noob." Yes. Noob is one of those few words where the word itself is actually part of it's own definition since anyone who even uses the word "Noob" in a serious manner is a Noob himself.

This is based off a true incident. It saddens me that some fellow hordies in World of Warcraft act this way.

A "noob" is a person who is new or inexperienced in a subject, usually an online game. Noobs are usually annoying and excessively stupid. Do not confuse noobs with newbs, who are inexperienced players that tend to be more mature and strive to become better.
