A type of Headline Stress Disorder where an individual suffers from intense social and emotional stress, anxiety, depression, and social resentment during and, depending on the election results, shortly after election season for about a month or two. It is caused by the intense negativity of political campaigns, social media, and the media. Generally, women are more likely to get it than men.
Evan: Marissa has been very anxious and depressed lately for some reason. You wouldn’t happen to know why would you?
Timothy: She suffers from intense election stress disorder. Because election started three weeks ago, the media is already getting very nasty about it and the social media companies have already began showing political ads, which is stressing her out.
Evan: I wish I could help her somehow.

Timothy: I read online that being around to talk and support her emotionally can help as well as when you’re with her, try not to talk about politics.

Evan: Thanks, I’ll try that.
