Watered down punk rock. It was started by CBGB bands Television, Talking Heads and Blondie. Although these bands were originally known as punk, they were renamed new wave because they didn't share punk's negative image and were more experimental. Eventually new wave evolved into a bunch of bullcrap like The Romantics.

A new-wave fanatic, essentially. They can exist during the 80's, or present date... but they are generally seen wearing outrageous outfits in the former, and sometimes unfortunately, in the latter.

Remember the look was first done in the 70's as New Wave evolved out of Punk & Glam Rock, then combined itself with the new romantic fashion that is now trying to make a comeback with a new generation. Only difference is New Wave was done right and gave credit to Punk. NewWave is and was not scuz or trash.

The current emo kids that aren’t actually emo. They obsess over 21 pilots, FAB, Lil peep. They claim to be sad with Billie Eilish being their starter pack. They’re usually younger and less cool then the traditional emo kids from 2000 to 2012. Most then likely, they’ll have a shitty taste in music and are not that big into bands. Even then, they claim to be edgy when they’re the Cheap version. As for their physical appearance, they don’t look emo at all unless they show a hint such as a crazy hair color.
