A middleman who forgets a promise or an obligation to arrange a deal or event with others. Not necessarily a habitual characteristic of the person, but it's damned aggravating when it happens!

Harry was supposed to ask Nance to our party, but he forgot. Next time, Nance says call her ourselves, and leave the muddleman out of it.

Allen ordered pizza delivered to the house, and Peggy was supposed to pay, but she never showed up. The delivery wench was totally PO'd. Never trust a muddleman with the cash end of a deal.

Middleman

In the drug world's supply chain they act as intermediaries between retailers (dealers) and consumers. The term is unisex, being used for man or woman. Typical practices include buying at street price then reselling at an inflated price, cutting the product to stretch it out, just charge money, drugs, sex etc for procurement or they buy in bulk at a discount thats not even close to wholesale prices (often times they don't realize they're actually middle-men , are in denial or just plain stupid).

Don't even bother to inquire about their source as they will take that secret to the grave. They are even privy towards homies giving excuses like "the dealer isn't taking new customers", "they're not a dealer, they just sell me a lil of their stash" or "I get it strait from the source (but never has large quantities)".

Identifying a potential middleman is easy, common red flags include- over priced; are always out and have to go re-up; not easy to get a hold of, sometimes for days; asks for gas money, not meant to be repaid; drugs come packed in torn grocery bags, plastic wrappers, foil etc instead of mini poly bags; asks you to front the money before they re-up; cant sell large quantities at a discounted price; rides a bike and not because they want to

middleman's tax 

A charge added on to the price of an item that one must pay a person who is buying said item so that the middleman can profit from the deal. Usually enacted when a minor is paying someone of age to buy alcohol or tobacco for them.

The damn middleman's tax is so high these days, I had to pay my brother 20 bucks for a fifth of smirnoff!
