the sound that one hears when one is in a room and hears multiple conversations occurring, yet the person cannot understand what any one person is saying.

Jimmy could not hear Susie talking because the mock talk was too loud at the banquet.

When you talk about something that literally no one has any clue, or create an inside joke that only a select few find funny while everyone else finds completely ridiculous.
