I don't want to miss a thing

One of the sweetest love songs ever written. Almost everyone understands how it feels to "Stay awake just to hear their sigificant otherbreathing..."
Jamie-"What song did you dance to at your wedding?"
Roxanne- "I don't want to miss a thing"
Jamie- "aww how sweet!"

It's better to miss a friend than to miss a joke

This comes from a brazilian saying. It basically means that if you're making jokes and someone gets offended ( on a personal level ), that is no reason to stop making those jokes. This, of course, isn't an excuse to just be an asshole, and must be used with nuance. The saying could also be directly translated to

"It's better to lose a friend than to lose a joke"
Guy 1 (whose wife died to stillbirth): Wow, these celebrities are crazy
Guy 2: What happened?
Guy 1: I checked the news, and it looks like the rapper DaBaby killed his wife
Guy 2: Well, "The Baby" also killed YOUR wife
Guy 1: Low blow dude
Guy 2: It's better to miss a friend than to miss a joke

Schwing and a miss

When you get an instant boner at the sight of something utterly sexual in nature but that boner is quickly rescinded by something purely udesirebale right next to it. It is one hell of a Juxtaposition. Its a spin on the popular phrase "Swing and a miss"
Guy 1: Dude, Look at Carmen over there. She looks super hot in that black sequin dress *gets a boner*

Guy 2: Damn Straight, Bro.

Guy 1: Oh shit, she also brought her ugly friend Susan. *boner rescinded*

Guy 2: That's too bad. Well I guess its a Schwing and a miss.

give it a miss

...to intentionally avoid doing something.

This is the most common usage - it generally doesn't mean rating such activity negatively, even if this is sometimes implied.
"Did you watch Love Island last night?"

"Nah, I decided to give it a miss."

Swing n a Miss

When you crack a joke and someone else doesn't catch on.

A little flick of the hand in the direction you would naturally bat, while making a "shhhiou" sound with your mouth. Much like when someone does it over their head.

You say "Swing n a Miss" directly after the swing - all in 1 word.
Ryan: Haha, check out THAT broad broad.

Jim: I think you mean "bored" broad.

Brett: Yeah, because she doesn't have any food!

Ryan: Hahahaha.

Jim: Huh?

Ryan & Brett: *shhhiou* Swing n a Miss!
