A phrase wich depending on context, can have a positive or negative meaning.
Negative- To cheat someone; to shortchange someone; to be dishonest; to be uncool
Positive- To be so correct as to not cut any corners; to be cool under pressure; to be direct with someone
Negative- "You paid Johnny how much? Man, he measures on the slant. . . ."
Positive- "Did you see how Johnny picked up that girl? Dude measures on the slant!"
