South Africans (white folks) use the word "Kefir" as the equivalent to the use of the word "Nigger" in the U.S. -- rather, the way it was used and the social reaction garnered up until the 1970s. It is used to imply that the person assigned the title is "low class" or "beneath" the speaker. In the movie Blood Diamond, Danny Archer (character portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio) angrily referred to Solomon Vandy (Djimon Hounsou's character) as a Kefir. Since the term was used is such a derogatory way, the viewer understands that Archer used the word kefir, as spoken in South Africa, that is the equivalent word to the word nigger in the United States.
'Let me axe you a question?' Who taught you how to speak? You sound like a kefir!
