heel to the steel

To press the accelerator all the way to the floorboard such that your heel if pressing vigorously against the steel on the floorboard. Often used in conjunction with "pedal to the metal".

BJ McKay said to his best friend Bear, "I put the pedal to the medal and the HEEL TO THE STEEL!"
