A sign post, most of the time in New York City, that has an unusually high number of parking restriction signs on it so that any potential parkers must sit and read it thoroughly to determine whether it is legal to park there at that particular time. It is so named for the fact that it is relatively easy to miss a sign, and the officer who gives you a ticket can say "Gotcha!"
Man, I thought I was parked legally, but I must've missed reading one of the signs on that gotcha pole and now I just got a parking ticket.
