In a restauraunt a pizza with almost every topping on it. At home a pizza which is topped with random extra leftovers and vegetables. Named as such because it's a great way to get rid of 'garbage' and possibly because it looks like garbage or would be considered a garbage idea by a pretentious professional chef.
Garbage pizza is a great way to get rid of left overs and salvage them before they hit the garbage. I just took some eggplant, left over meatballs a can of olives and the peppers and slapped them on a pie. A culinary sledgehammer that looks like garbage, but it cleans the fridge and saves money.
