Nowadays "GAR" is used to describe characters that have reached the utmost levels of manliness. Said levels being judged looking at: - The character's build (the more muscles he has the manlier he is). - The ability to shout his attacks (GETTA BIIIIIIMU!, ROCKETTO PAAANCHI!, ATATATATATATA!!), though this is not necessarily a must. - And finally the power to bring manly tears for the viewer (through either a speech brimming with awsomeness, a manly death, the end of the series, all of these combined etc.). Dude, you're so gar for him...

A species of mythological creatures from the Sword of Truth series. There are two forms: short-tailed and long-tailed. The short-tailed being the most intelligent of the two. Both use blood flies to identify and hunt prey. The flies find prey, biting and irritating the victim to the point of retaliation. When the victim kills the fly, the blood draws the Gar to the location. The creature resembles a lion with wings, if my memory serves.... Gars are carnivores, genius.
