A mix of a
wannabe and a try-hard with the need to be fun or charming.
As a male, he was once known as the class-
clown. Or the guy always spouting lame
one-liners. The guy who tells what he thinks are great stories, but are just tedious and probably half made up. The guy who's always talking about
sex or anything gross, and laughing about it like a 7th grader.
More common is the female funnabe. She's a
poor imitation of a Valley Girl, or rather a hyped-up Valley Girl. Very much an
American type. The term "relentlessly upbeat" comes to mind. No matter how old she is, she tries to be super charming and fun, in an absurdly young-girly way. All her antics and phrases are lifted directly from her role-models, i.
e. reality show queens. She's never had an interesting idea, and can only speak in cliches. "Ewwwww".
Everything is exaggerated...her gestures, facial expressions and talk, in a desperate attempt to show she's exciting.
