A fuaxtist is an indivdual who pretends to be a full fledged artist despite the fact that their creativity is more of a hobby, not an occupation. Close association to fauxhemians, bobos and yipsters. Rogers Park in Chicago is a neighborhood with many fauxtists who work 9-5 jobs, but claim to friends and family that they are in fact artist. Rarely make any art.
