The wild uproar from fans of particular subject matter or a public figure when anything is done with the subject matter or public figure regardless of the quality of what is being done to, with or by the subject matter or public figure.

When Hollywood doesn't keep to the source material for movies based on comic books, fandumbmoanium breaks loose!

Everytime anything to do with Twilight happens, every household with a female in it turns into complete fandumnmoanium.

Fandumb

A type of fandom that isn't involved in the internet community except to constantly deride the subject matter, especially the newer examples. Usually an old school purist. Especially common in anime and Final Fantasy fandom.

"Final Fantasy 10 sucks it was a movie blah blah blah."
"I love Final Fantasy VI, but everything after SUCKED!!!!!"

FanDumb

A condition were as an individual has such enthusiasm for a Person, Place, or Thing - that they effectively become socially retarded.

Symptoms of FanDumb are;

-Not knowing how to communicate / identify / empathize with people out side your fan circle or scene.

-Frightening people with the amount of inane information about a person, place, or thing that you have accrued (either through verbal communication or via a "Shrine").

-Socially isolating your self from others by an inappropriate sense of boundaries concerning your right to information about a person, place, or thing.

-Being aggressively judgemental about a person's value or worth as a human being in consideration to their like or dislike of your respective interest and or scene.

-Spending so much time wrapped up in your enthusiasm either in you mind as fantasies or on the internet that you - A) forget to bathe. B) Forget to eat. C) Forget to Sleep. OR D) ALL OF THE ABOVE.

-Socially isolating your self from friends or loved ones because they are critical about the amount of time you spend dedicated to your respective enthusiasm.
