1) Having an older family member - typically a parent - mortify, humiliate or make one uncomfortable through an online social media outlet that they have no business being on in the first place.


2) Spreading private information to a wider audience through Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.
My dad cyber-embarrassed me when he commented on my Facebook status and told all of my friends about that time when I was seven . . .

I can't believe my mom tweeted about the crush I had on in middle school. That was so cyber-embarrassing.

Sally was cyber-embarrassed when her bff posted a pic of her bra-shopping.
