coastal boy

Coastal Boy: a white male native to the South Carolina Low Country. Coastal Boys are identifiable by their Performance Fishing Gear shirts, visors, and Costa Delmar sunglasses with croakies carefully placed on the back of the neck. The hair of a Coastal Boy is swept down in front and flipped up in the back, thus often confused for a classic Justin Bieber.

Coastal golf

Wealthy people playing golf on courses along the coast.
Tom asked how my weekend in Laguna Beach was and I said “Great, I’d never played coastal golf before.”

To jump around a lot, keep showing up at different places.

E.g. Never stay in one spot for long.
I.e. Business travelling. Band Touring.

Originally intended for large distances, hence "coast".
But nowadays (with more instant updating and specific geo tagging) not limited to. One might as well be showing up at different places (preferably peripherally opposite) in a city given a delimited time period.

Can be described as a more conscious type of jet lag. You are aware of your body not catching up to acclimatize to the new surroundings.
Seen on George's wall:
"Tuesday: George checked in @New York"
"Wednesday: George checked in @San Francisco"
"Friday: George checked in @Washington"

Response:
- Hehe :) travel a lot this week, George?
- Yes, I've been (feeling) a bit by coastal lately ;)

When pronounced with an elonagted 'a' in the finaly syllabul, "coastal" becomes an extremely positive and complemtary adjective, with its usage somewhat like that of "safe".
"You Going to SE1 tonight bbz?"
"Yaaaah ,totally, wow, it's gonna be total coastal yah"

used by members of the ever exclusive white middle class yacht scene and only the coolest of their friends to describe something unbelievably cool.

This is the latest slang in london and is said with a long 'a' as in 'coastaal'.

Originally used in marbella night clubs, the word is now used all over London and is fast spreading.

That's sooo totally safe!
Oh I know! isn't it just coastaal?

I'm having a wicked rave time-
Yeah this party is sooo coastal.

Coastal Elite

'Coastal elite' is a not-so-obscure reference to primarily intellectual, educated, economically advantaged, people in states like Washington, Oregon, California, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania. They happen to be overwhelmingly Euro-American, preponderantly supportong a Classical Liberal, Progressive, Civic Nationialist and Cultural Nationalist political ideology and are mostly Democrats with a few "Rockefeller Republicans".
Majority of students at Harvard University are from families of the Coastal Elite.

Coastal Grandmother

A coastal grandmother is an affluent woman that likes to spend her retirement years reading on the porch of her Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard home, gardening, collecting sea shells on the shore, and drinking coffee as she watches the sunrise.

Her hair is either blonde or completely white, but it is never too short. She wears stylish, yet comfortable clothes and minimal jewelry. White, cream, beige, baby blue and light pink are her favorite colors. Vineyard Vines, Brooks Brothers and Kate Spade are staples in her wardrobe.

Her home is beautiful, spacious and tastefully decorated. There are always freshly picked hydrangeas in her antique vases and freshly picked lemons from her lemon tree in the kitchen.
I want to be like Diane Keaton when I'm old and live my life like I'm in a Nancy Meyers movie. She's the epitome of a coastal grandmother.
