The falling in popularity of a brand because its traditional clientele age and younger generations do not replace the steady attrition of older customers.
"Lucky Strikes" once held a capstone on the American cigarette market, but eventually fell victim to buickization as the young smoking public embraced the mores of counterculture embodied by "Marlboro" and "Virginia Slims."
