A term used to describe something that is out of style or obsolete.

The term derives from the German word of the same name. "Alt" means "old" and "modisch" means "style." Therefore, altmodisch means "old style, or old fashioned in the German language.

In English, however, the translation means "obsolete" and is usually a derogatory term.
"Hey there goes Becky...why is she wearing a pink MC Hammer shirt and gigantic hoop earrings from the late 80s?"

"Those clothes are so altmodisch."
