allopathic

Pejorative retronym. First invented by homeopaths trying to poke fun at orthodox medicine in the 1800s, the term gained new life in the 20th Century as a retronym to distinguish medical doctors (MDs) from osteopathic physicians (DOs).

"Allopathic? Bah! That allopath will feel my wrath," said the homeopath, receiving a spongebath.

The release of chemicals by one plant species that inhibits the germination or growth of another species.

A rose plant releases a chemical and this stops another species from growing, this is known as allelopathy.

A seemingly normal individual who displays a rapid negative personality change after consuming alcohol.

1. Having an exclusive or predominant attraction to individuals of an different ethnic, ancestral, or cultural group.
2. Tending to associate, bond, or align socially with members of a different group-particularly in mating, friendship, or hiring-often under the guise of "shared values."
