Nickname for the Astoria, Queens neighborhood in New York City. Formerly an ethnic, working class neighborhood, in recent years it has been a popular place for theatre professionals to live- cheaper than Manhattan and 20 minutes to mid-town on the N, Q, R subway lines.
Derek's been looking for a new apartment, preferably in Actstoria, so he can have an easy commute to both the play he's in, and his job waiting tables.
