Vocablabber 

A person who unintentionally distorts the meanings of words by trying to impress others with their vocabulary.

A person who trys to sound smart by using big words, even when they don't really know what they mean.

Trying to sound smart, Steve said he was ambiguous when he meant ambivalent, he's a bit of a vocablabber.
