A clever take on the classic "Field-Niggah"/"House-Niggah" debate ever present in Black America.

This variety being one who can capably function in the "fields" of the culture of black folk, per se, while somehow also managing the "house" of an adverse greater society at large. A sort of human buffer-state; a conduit. Tool shed serving as metaphor for common ground, as he/she is often used, regarded -or taken advantage of- equally by opposing sides.

Tool-shed negroes are rare and generational. They usually have polarizing personalities and are of the intellectual/creative/free-spirited type (a lá James Baldwin, Michelle Obama, Kanye West et al.)
