1. Shorthand for "pay as you go." This zippy little term was used by President Obama in February 2010 to describe his new approach to federal spending and fiscal discipline.

2. The opposite of "buy now, pay later."

3. An idea whose time has not yet come, at least not on Capitol Hill.

"Let's invest $58 billion in a new Highway to Nowhere up there in Alaska. It'll stimulate the economy for sure!"

"No way, buddy. We're on the Paygo plan now."

Haters on the Payroll 

The phrase simply means that you are doing extremely well and are very successful. Success, fame and fortune will inevitably come with a large amount of haters. This is not a bad thing, without haters there is no one to prove wrong. Understanding that hate is a sign of envy and jealously should be used to motivate you. Just remember, haters gonna hate, that just means you're doing well.

"Yoo dude did you see Dan Bilzerian's snap story!? Looks like he was hunting warthogs out of a chopper down in Texas with like five hot mami's, friggin epic!"

"No, I hate Dan Bilzerian. His company is gonna fail and he'll be a broke ass cat like me."

Dan Bilzerian has haters on the payroll and they are working for free.

Definition: When acting like an ass comes back to bite you in the ass in 25 seconds or less.

Background: After scoring the go ahead field goal with 25 seconds left in the Saints-Vikings January 14, 2018 playoff game, Sean Payton turned to the Vikings home crowd and raised his arms up and down in a mock Skol cheer. The Vikings responded by scoring a TD to win the game on the final play of the game.
