Something that you came up with yourself, an idea that is original to you because you (think) you have never heard it before. However, in the course of human history, someone else has probably already done it, therefore it's not truly original.
I came up with this really great original witty expression all on my own, but when I told it to someone, they said that they had heard it before elsewhere. So it turns out it's originot.
