A band that has origins in bluegrass music. Nickel Creek has expanded their sound and strayed from conventional bluegrass music. Their first album(the self titled one) was more of a traditional bluegrass sound. Their second album "This Side" pushed the boundaries of bluegrass music and explored more of the pop genre. Their thrid album, "Why Should The Fire Die" was pretty much acoustic rock. The group consists of Chris Thile-Mandolin, bazouki, lead vocals Sara Watkins-Lead vocals, fiddle, violin and Sean Watkins-Guitar and lead vocals.
Where can a teacher go
Wherever she thinks people need the things she knows.
Hey those books you gave us look good on the shelves at home
And we'll burn one in the fire teacher when in rome.
~When In Rome by Nickel Creek~
An awsome band that originated in 1989 and have put out two CD's, Nickel Creek (2000) and This Side (2002). Though originally created as a bluegrass
band, their music expands on those influences by incorporating Beatles-flavored psychedelia, left-of-center alt rock, pop, folk and more. The band consists of Chris Thile (Mandolin), Sarah(Fiddle), and Sean Watkins(acoustic gutar). Sean and Chris also have several solo albums.
One day you'll see her and you'll know what I mean.
Take her or leave her she will still be the same.
She'll not try to buy you with her time.
But nothing's the same, as you will see when she's gone.
It's foreign on this side,
And I'll not leave my home again.
There's no place to hide
And I'm nothing but scared.
Nickel Creek, the divine rejuvenation of the bluegrass genre. Chris Thile, Sarah & Sean Watkins stand on the forefront of bluegrass, blending eclectic forms of music to create what they describe as "genre soup".
Orgasmic melodies, enchanted instrumentals, insightful lyrics. It must be Nickel Creek
