A cognitive state characterized by an individual's heightened awareness with the recurring patterns, techniques, and conventions employed in filmmaking due to frequent exposure to content on streaming platforms.
Etymology: Coined by Sina Khani in Creeps From The Middle East (Episode 1) the term "Netflix Brain" derives from the popular streaming service "Netflix," known for its vast library of films and television series. The term "brain" is used metaphorically to represent the cognitive processing and perception of audiovisual content, and it refers to the term “porn brain”.

Characteristics and Symptoms:
1. Hyperawareness: Individuals with Netflix Brain possess an acute ability to identify common narrative structures, plot devices, and character archetypes present in films.
2. Predictability Radar: They can anticipate plot twists, foreshadowing, and dramatic reveals based on their extensive exposure to repetitive storytelling techniques.
3. Cinematic Deja Vu: Netflix Brain often results in a sense of familiarity and a feeling of having seen similar scenes or storylines.
4. Critical Eye: Affected individuals tend to analyze filmmaking techniques such as cinematography, editing, sound design, special effects and filmmaking mistakes (like continuity errors) due to their enhanced knowledge of these aspects.

Usage Example:
Sina Khani: I had a career move after career move after c.. c.. c.. career move and all failed. And I did comedy, hoohoo, didn’t work. I started to paint like Picasso, everybody called me Basquiat, I hate Basquiat, hoohoo. And then I started to make films and now everybody is saying your films suck and they’re too long and you are underacting. You should be overacting. And you’re not funny. It’s not comedy, it’s not tragic, it doesn’t have a plot, it doesn’t have a beginning. People have porn brains. They have Netflix brains, you know?
