Negation of Bob

1. A rather intresting group of individuals. They are mostly nerds who took Geometery as 8th graders, but seem to be more insane and stupid than brilliant, despite the fact that they all seem to have held a minimum of 4.0 for their eniter school career.

The name of this group/not-so secret society/club-thing originates from the fact that they banded together in to make fun of their fellow classmate, who also happens to be a member of the club, Bob. Negation is a spiffy geometry term. Many people seem to hate Bob as well, so they fully support the organization, despite the member's wackiness.

Their mascot is a muffin, their symbol a negation sign(~). They are apparently going to take over the world, according to many people, due to their extreme intellect. In preperation, they have made a number of elaborate plans to take over the world, usually involving kidnapping and ransoming Shamu and fleeing to Liechtenstein.
"Negation of Bob? Yeah, they're the reason that we've got a negation symbol on out keyboard. Seriously, man! They totally control things like that. Soon, one of them is going to be President, and we'll all be doomed."
"Those Negation of Bob freaks were playing Duck-Duck-Goose again. Then they started whiplash, and a whole bunch of other nutters joined in."
"Isn't that one redheaded chick in Negation of Bob? She seems like one of those crazies."

Negation Nigger

An ethnic minority person who is cast in a media production (movie, commercial, TV show etc.) in a role of high social status or authority (board member, general, judge, senator, doctor etc.) with the aim of (i) appealing to the corresponding ethnic segment of the audience, (ii) soothing the social conscience of the white audience, or (iii) merely being 'politically correct'. The term 'Negation' refers to the fact that such production aims to negate that in reality the incidence of ethnic minority people is much lower or even non-existent. The term 'Nigger' is not intended as a slur, but rather debunks the (white) casters for very likely (but of course indiscernibly) using the N-word in their thinking.

The term is a 'clin d'oeil' to the Dutch rhyming term 'Excuus Truus' (Excuse Bitch) that has been use in Holland for a few decades now, after it had been invented by feminists in the seventies to mock a woman who had been appointed to a corporate board for the sole purpose of political correctness.
This was the umpteenth time that Keith David was cast as the negation nigger, when he accepted the role of a 4-star general in that action movie.

Negation Bias

A cognitive bias opposite to confirmation bias: the tendency to seek out, favor, and remember information that contradicts one's own beliefs, while dismissing or ignoring supporting evidence. Where confirmation bias protects existing views, negation bias attacks them—often as a form of intellectual self‑flagellation or contrarianism. It can be adaptive in science (actively seeking disconfirming evidence) but pathological when it leads to rejecting well‑supported positions simply because they feel too comfortable. Negation bias is common among perpetual skeptics who mistake relentless doubt for rigor.
Example: “He ignored every study supporting climate action and only shared articles questioning it—negation bias, treating disconfirmation as a virtue regardless of the evidence.”

Discredit Bias

A bias where one automatically attempts to discredit any source, argument, or evidence that challenges their position, often through ad hominem attacks, guilt by association, or questioning motives. Unlike simple disagreement, discredit bias seeks to destroy the credibility of the opponent rather than engage with their claims. It is a defensive mechanism common in ideological debates, where acknowledging a valid point would threaten one's worldview. Discredit bias often works alongside confirmation bias: confirm what supports you, discredit what doesn't.

Example: “When she cited a reputable study, he immediately called the journal 'biased' and the author 'compromised'—discredit bias, attacking the source instead of the data.”

negated negation

A prefix which should, but does not, negate the word to which it is attached. While 'mobility' and 'immobility' are opposites, as are 'effective' and 'ineffective', the words 'passivity' and 'impassivity' mean the same thing, as do the words 'flammable' and 'inflammable'.
Tired of being described as passive, he decided to be more impassive. He'd be a man of action, or maybe even inaction. What difference could a negated negation make?
A small, metaphysical attack on one's happiness; usually passed from one person to another in the form of an insult or physical abuse.
