The old name of the Chao Phraya River (Jao Praya, Chao Praya, the River of Kings, etc.) given by Westerners who resided in Siam (Thailand) until like 1950s, it means "River River" in Thai. This means it originally doesn't have its name, people back then just called it "Maenam" (or Menam).
This river has its length at 376 km, it used to be about as long as Mekhong river back in the ice age period, the mouth was at the current location of South China Sea halfway between Borneo Island and Ca Mau Peninsula, Vietnam.
All the maps written by the Westerners used to labelled this river that flows through Bangkok "Menam River".
