A phrase used to make people think you are going to do what they say 'in a minute', however the task is almost always never done as the person is too lazy. It is most effective when used to piss someone off. Goes well with whining noises.

A brief length of time that becomes drawn out because of complications. Originating from IT workers who had to give set amounts of time that were guaranteed to get drawn out.
Fred: Dude you said you were going to be five minutes, it's been fifteen!
Patrick: They were IT minutes.
Patrick: They were IT minutes.
