An Idiot Ring is a ring shaped mark (usually in the form that of a bruise)created by the kick of a scoped gun (primarily rifles) after the person shooting said gun put their eye too close to the scope,

Will forgot to keep some distance from his muzzleloader’s scope and got a gnarly Idiot Ring.

Idioting

Basically, an idiot does crime then hides. Then he waits till someone like him gets caught with his crime. Then brags about his crime.
