a Japanese term for a person who refuses to leave a certain place like a home and stays put in one place. a hikkiomori never goes outside also. a great example for a hikkiomori is SUNNY from the game OMORI.
person 1: look at that guy over there! he finally went outside after what seemed like ages!
person 2: well what can you say? hes a hikkiomori, of course it seems like ages.
