Heat-Up

A fake term only used by people named Ray. The imaginary phrase is generally used to describe a hard time or messed up situation. It should be noted that as it is fake, Heat-Up can be used in any situation despite not making any sense. The made up word has no basis in fact and was only created to be part of the conversation.

Person A: Man, I’m glad I‘m finally out of that situation. It was really messed up.

Person B: Yeah, it was a Heat-Up for sure!

Person A: A what?!? That’s not a real thing. Stop making words up.

Heating Up/On Fire

A rule in beer pong which states that if a player makes three cups in a row without missing, he/she may continue shooting on his/her turn until he/she misses. Although house rules vary, the player may have to call when he/she is heating up. Upon successfully making two cups, the player would have to call "Heating up," and after the third consecutive cup, the player would have to call, "On fire."

heating up cold soup

Heating up cold soup is when a person rekindles a romantic relationship from their (usually distant) past.

The soup is analogous to the relationship in this analogy—and that soup isn’t just room temp...it’s straight up cold. Thus, the general sentiment is that the rekindling is with someone one has neither spoken with nor seen (nor obsessed over) in years.
