Harvard of the North isn't defined yet, but these are close:
1. Harvard of the South
University of Mississippi, or Ole Miss. Its even on Tshirts. Under the same umbrella, Harvard is the Ole Miss of the north.
Welcome to Ole Miss, the Harvard of the South.

2. University of Toronto
A university with 3 campuses across Ontario. The school is lauded within Toronto as being very prestigious, and students are actually taught to snub their noses at other universities and colleges, regardless of Academic merit. In many cases, U of T students tend to get an inflated ego from the schools over zealous and sometimes irrationally pompous attitude towards calling itself "the Harvard of the North".

Such assumptions are generally debated and won by the fact that the U of T campuses consists of UTSC (Scarborough campus), UOFT (Downtown) and UTE (Erindale/Mississauga) - this last campus is in Mississauga, which is not part of Toronto and thus shows how idiotic the administration and overall management of the school is.

Some U of T students are able to graduate without developing a high ego, but many of the students - primarily those who go to the downtown campus, often end up with an inflated sense of worth - only to graduate and end up working for their peers who attended other universities.

3. Merrimack
From past posting it is noticed spoiled, uninspired, trash mouth people with nothing positive to do with their lives, except to post negative things about their town like the urbandictionary.. so may they stand corrected.

Welcome to the Town of Merrimack, NH. Merrimack is a one hour commute from Boston, one hour from the seacoast, and one hour from the mountains, placing this thriving community of approximately 27,000 people right in the heart of it all. It is a town rich in history. For example, Matthew Thornton, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, called Merrimack home.

Merrimack is a sleep family town. ( Many people find that charming) We have 3 elementary schools, one new middle school, and one (old but functioning) high school.

The student diversity for Merrimack is not a broad as one may like to see. BUT we host students from around the world that add to our community and have many shades of all colors here... not in great numbers but that is just the way it is. There are many "wanna-be" gangsta students that have no outlet for their lives so they pretend... act like somthing they are not. We have jocks, preps, music peeps, and even our drop-outs and knocked up teens.
There are drug issues, fights, and cheating... just like every other school in America. There are also amazing students that have goals, futures that will take them anywhere the want to be. There are amazing teachers that care and go out of the way for students that want an...

5. Harvard
Harvard is perhaps the most prestigious University in the USA. The University was founded in 1636 in Cambridge Massachusetts, way before the USA became independent from Britain. The name came after John Harvard, a young minister, a graduate of Cambridge, England, who upon his death left library and estate to support the early time of University.

Before 20th century, European countries dominated the world and finest Universities such as Cambridge and Oxford were found in Europe.
However, because of World War I and II, European countries lost world power and the power shifted to the USA. Political and economic power shifts also made opportunity for American Universities to set the highest standards.

Harvard is like a huge cooperation or enterprise, investing in stocks, lands, not only investments in educations. Harvard's strong power is perhaps its prestigious name and also enormous financial power that could recruit the already established best star scholars in the world to be Harvard professors. Average assistant and associate professors are high standards in their levels. However, the presence of several, but not all, star professors at Harvard is making Harvard almost incomparable unique University.
In addition, Harvard-MIT, both located in Boston, perhaps two top Universities, have exchange programs that add more opportunities.
Learning from top professors naturally gives opportunities to students to stand in the front positions in the world in their...

6. Northwestern Goggles
Northwestern Goggles refers to adding several (generally at least 2-3) points to a man's attractiveness rating on a ten-point scale while in attendance at Northwestern University. Ie, a young man who would rate as a 5 in the outside world would receive a rating of 8 at Northwestern. As Northwestern's women are rated as, on average, a letter grade and a half above Northwestern's men - a B+ overall vs. a C- according to one study - women have been known to date down a letter grade, causing significant attractiveness discrepancies within Northwestern hookups and relationships. This rule is especially true on South Campus, where the boys are largely pasty, non-athletic humanities, music and science majors, while North Campus is home to the sometimes marginally-more-attractive fraternity boys and athletes. However, as it is also home to some of the bad fraternities and Slivka, the science and engineering residence hall, North Campus has a much more variability on the attractiveness scale.

Fortunately, this phenomenon typically lasts only the four years one spends at Northwestern - unless you continue at Northwestern for Graduate School, in which case the damage can become permanent, resulting in marriage, and possibly even children.

7. Severna Park
SEVERNA PARK, located centrally within Anne Arundel County, is made up of miles of shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay, Severn River, and Magothy River. The tree lined shore not only furnishes a private feeling to water front living within many well maintained residential communities, but also provides an exquisite setting for sailing, fishing, crabbing, boating and for recreational water sports. Local business thrives within this well established community, which offers residents close-to-home shopping. And with its close proximity to some of the nation’s hottest cities, thirty minutes from D.C., twenty minutes from Baltimore and fifteen from Annapolis, Severna Park is a sought after suburban place of residence.
SP is home to about thirty-five thousand people and ten thousand households, half of which of have children. As a resident of Severna Park myself, I can offer up my own insight on the typical lifestyle of a child containing home here in the Park.

Unarguably, the most outstanding aspect of Severna Park residents (Parkies) is their ability to excel at all aspects of life. This is most likely attributed to an inbred need to ‘keep up with the Jones’.” These citizens are known throughout Maryland for their ability to both work extremely hard, at least for nine months out of the year, and party just as hard.
Parents maintain uncommonly demanding lives. Fathers spend most of their time at work acting as the bred winners of the household. And they tend to do well. The ...
