Used to describe:

a: An alternative rock band with a female lead singer.

b: An option chosen in a situation akin to what a female would do, rather than the instinctive male option.

"Yo, did you hear that new girlternitive band? That slut could sing!"

"Let's be rational, you may want to consider the girlternitive here."
