Kickass French cigarette, which reached the peak of its popularity between the world wars in Europe. Cigarette of choice for old Frenchmen and beatniks the world over. Gauloises Brunes are very strong, using a dark blend of tobacco from Syria and Turkey. Also available in a Virginia (American) blend, known as Gauloises Blondes.

Literally Gauloises brown. Famous French cigarettes made from Turkish and Syrian tobacco mixtures. Since 1999 the brand has discontinued to sell in most countries.
Gauloises brunes and Gitanes ( also discontinued ) were two lookalike brands typical of a french cigarette of the last century.
