Fobbit
A term used to describe soldiers in Iraq that rarely if ever leave the relative safety of the Forward Operating Base (FOB). This is a perjoritive term used by soldiers that spend a lot of time outside the wire beaing shot at and dodging road-side bombs, for those soldiers that live a safer and more comfortable life.
FLOBBs
FLOBBs ... a modern acronym, short for:
"Flakes, LOwballers, cheap-Bastards, and Bottom-feeders".
FLOBBs is always plural, and refers to a class of people
who's actions are primarily irresponsible in nature and
usually cheap.

Craigslist and the increasing percentage of flaky buyers.

Fobbing
Verb. The act of crying to, for, over, or because of the band Fall Out Boy. The occurrence of sobbing uncontrollably to FOB's music was happening enough that it deserved it's own word. It is not uncommon to 'fob', especially when seeing FOB live.
Person 1: Any Fall Out Boy song is great to make out to, except for 'What a Catch, Donnie', because no one wants to make out while crying.

fobsessed
being totally and utterly in love with Fall Out Boy, so much that you would rather die than to see the band break up.
people who are fobsessed are not teenies, these people live and breathe the music and dislike but tolerate the "oh em gee, pete wentz is global warming." sort of people. They know every scrap of information there is to do with FOB like the date Sugar We're Going Down was released (June 1, 2005) to what kind of car patrick drives (a blue honda civic) and what joe's dogs name is (its a pug and its name is shocker). They also own every album, EP and Dvd released by the band, and they have downloaded any other unreleased songs that there are. They usually belong to the Official Fall Out Boy fanclub too, aptly named Overcast Kids. And finally, they know every word to every song and can quote them in a heartbeat.

Striver
The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.
The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.

For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. Utility beer
Utility beer is the beer you keep around for the day-to-day moments when beer is a necessity to assist in pedestrian activities (golf, plumbing, yardwork, babysitting, staff meetings, Zoom calls). For the beer snob it is the beer you save for neighbors when they drop in at 3 p.m. on a Tuesday. It is differentiated from the actual high-end beer you save for special events, holidays, and special tastings.
