From "
ego" and "hijack".
When you legitimately enjoy
being yourself and someone abruptely uses your
words or behaviour to make themself look more valuable and important.
- I was at the park with the
kid who asked me why the ball wasn't flying but always coming down to earth... So I gave the standard newtonian explanation about attraction, trying to keep it simple, you know... Then, there's that man coming out from nowhere telling me (and my son!) I was saying non-sens, that it's a shame, and starts ranting about Einstein, astronomy and stuff...
-
Oh,
yeah, I know those. There's a lot of them on the
Internet.
- But what the heck? I already knew all that, and the
kid didn't even listen and went away playing! It just made me feel bad...
- Sure. You've been egojacked.
