Unlike the first two definitions, a Disney Princess is a heroine/damsel-in-distress character in a Disney film who has overcome some sort of hardship in their respective movie. The Disney Princess line so far is Snow White, Princess Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine and Mulan, with another soon-to-be Disney Princess on the way. The Little Mermaid gave us a fine example of a Disney Princess in the form of Ariel, a 16-year old mermaid princess who knows what she wants in life.
