To Nick Carraway (verb) is to attend a party thrown by someone you know, and then proceed to make polite conversation, observe the rest of the people at the party dancing and having fun, and to neither get drunk nor become involved in any romantic encounter. It is named after the narrator of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel The Great Gatsby, called Nick Carraway, who acts in this way at the large parties held by Gatsby.
