This is the extension of your middle finger in response to a person who causes an awkward situation or silence by saying or doing something stupid.
Roland: Jill called Cheddi gay in front of everyone yesterday.
Greg: What did he do?
Roland: He gave her an awkward unicorn.

Similar to the original "Awkward Turtle" concept. Hand is made into a "peace" sign (can also be a "rock on" sign) and back of hand is touched to forehead, like a two-horned unicorn.
