Avoidachop (verb) – when someone ends a relationship or friendship with another person by simply avoiding them, or ignoring them. For those people not comfortable with the popular and highly effective e-chop approach, the ‘avoidachop’ can take anywhere between 5 days to two weeks (in severe cases it can take months, depending on the intelligence of the ‘choppee’) to achieve full effect. It is generally practised when the ‘avoidachopper’: (i) would prefer not to deal with the uncomfortable process of formally rejecting a person; (ii) develops a phobia of all communication devices including telephones, mobile phones, computers, post offices, fax machines and morse code; or (iii) is in a coma and unable to communicate with the rest of mankind. Example 1:
Person 1: “I saw Helen out in the city the other night with a new bloke – I thought she was seeing that new guy?” Person 2: “No, he avoidachopped her – she hasn’t heard from him in weeks.” Example 2: Person 1: “So how is it going with that Cindy girl?” Person 2: “No good, I don’t think it’s going anywhere.” Person 1: “Oh crap...how did you break it to her?” Person 2: “No problem, I just avoidachopped her – too easy.” |
