smut is generally anything that features an actual depiction of sex scenes (e.g. instead of being implied in the background), but commonly fully censored for non-hentai publishing and let's just say not the main thing like in hentai which is exclusively about the banging. anime is a style of animation originating from japan. anime characters + smut = anime smut
