Especially in gaming, if someone is not on the computer, but is still online, we call him or her Away From Keyboard, short as AFK.
Prof. Gaming: I tricked my hungry brother by talking food stuff to him, and he was eventually distracted to the refrigerator downstairs. While he was AFK, I made a Redstone Flying Machine (we were playing Minecraft) and sent him off to the world border.

A term used by adolescent gamers to let their friends know that they will be unreachable for a bit. Most the time "afk" is used as a discreet way to say, "I will be right back, I am going to go masterbate for a bit." Creating the new popular meaning of AFK, "Another Fap Kill".
