ADHD is a very real disorder that stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. People with this disorder tend to have difficulty focusing on a certain task and sitting still.
Don't mistake them for being dumb though, in fact it's quite the opposite. Their thoughts tend to wander off, but it allows them to have an easier grasp at
understanding a topic at different angles and allows them to question it deeper. Their thoughts just sometimes wander a bit TOO far off, giving their own little world.
They can definitely do the task at hand, they
understand it perfectly, they just tend to get distracted.
Think of it this way. A normal person's mind is a dimly lit room, with a single flashing light telling them where to go. People with ADHD, however, have a mind filled with
flashing lights, all telling them that each and every
one of them are important. The person with ADHD can see the brightest light, and know that it's the one they must go to, but it's hard to tell with all the flashing beams because they all collide with the main one. Sometimes they think that they're following the right light, but realize later that they are off task and that they must get to the one that shines the brightest.
There was a whole other draft where both
the definition and the examples were about 1000 words over the limit because every thing i said was me rambling about adhd and me constantly adding things to the stuff already written because my brain thought of it and then said to do it so i did it
it does that constantly
there's a mistake in the last sentence of the second paragraph because i went to write
something else before finishing it before i forgot the idea completely and then came back to
finish it with new ideas in mind
i just thought 10 things in the past 5 seconds and i forgot all of them because i decided that i was gonna write "i just thought of 10 things in the past 5 seconds."
Adhd! :)
