Cougar refers to an older woman, in their 40's and early 50's who's youthful looks are beginning to fade or are almost faded. Cougars tend to be sexually interested in younger men in their 20's or mid 30's since their libidos are more evenly matched. Cougars, being older and wiser are often financially stable and pursue men more for their boyish charm and stamina and less for their income level, career or ego. Cougars love the attention and passionate thrill of an uncomplicated sexually intense relationship that younger men tend to offer.
The slang term Cougar has become popularized by TV comedies such as 30 Rock and How I Met Your Mother (episode "Aldrin Justice"), the movie Ocean's Thirteen, The Graduate (Though the term Cougar is not referenced, the character "Mrs. Robinson" is an example of a Cougar) and the NBC reality TV show Age of Love. Famous Cougars include... Demi and Ashton, Naomi Watts and Heath Ledger, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins.

A woman typically over 40, who enjoys the company of the younger male. It isn't all about sex, but rather more about honesty, openness and expression. Its about getting out and enjoying life and activity. Who wants a guy who's sole peak of happiness is a remote and someone to wait on him? Younger males have more energy,confidence and fewer hangups.
