New York City is like 1/2 shit hole and the other 1/2 is awsome. I'll give it places like time square central park and shit like that, but most of it is filled with traffic and mobs of people. The air smells like shit from all the car exaust. To some people it might be the greatest place in the U.S. or maybe even the world, but thats probably only because the only places they've ever been to there are like Brodway and Madison Square Garden. Some people just love NYC because september 11th happened and they've never even been there before. It's not like I don't care that that happened but that doesn't make NYC any better of a place. If your from NYC I respect you, NYC is just not for me.
i <3 new york
pish tosh, thats cause you've never been anywhere else

New York City is actually five small counties(boroughs) in the southern part of New York state. Two of the counties are on western Long Island(Queens and Brooklyn); two counties are islands(Manhattan and Staten Island); and one county is on the southern tip of the state(Bronx). New York City is one of the financial capitals of the Western Hemisphere and has many attractions for tourists. Most of these attractions are in Manhattan. However, there are some good places to visit in the other four boroughs.

New York is a great place to visit and has some great restaurants. Be prepared, though. Many things in Manhattan are very expensive. If you want a good, cheap restaurant, I recommend going to one of the other boroughs(specifically Queens). The cultural diversity of New York makes way for many restaurants with cuisines from many countries.

Some good attractions in the city include Bronx Zoo, the Coney Island aquarium, Museum of Natural History, Intrepid Museum, and Statue of Libterty. For sports fans, there is also Shea Stadium in Queens, Yankee Stadium in Bronx, Giants Stadium and Prudential Center in nearby New Jersey, Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, and Nassau Veterans Memorial Colloseum in Nassau county(east of Queens).

Despite all this, New York City does have its problems. Inflation is causing the prices of good to go up even more. Not to mention, gentrification and other things are causing housing to go up. Ever since 9/11, it's been getting worse and worse to live in the city. Even in the less expensive outer boroughs. On top of this, some of the residents are arrogant morons who like to talk about how great the city is. Some parts of the city are also areas you want to stay away from(Harlem, certain parts of Brooklyn, Queens, and Bronx).
*Tourists from another city.*

1st tourist: New York City has been a great place to visit the last four days. The Statue of Liberty looks splendid from here. We should go see it.

2nd tourist: Sure, then we can go to Shea Stadium later and watch those Mets get whipped by the Braves! The Braves shall rise again!

1st tourist: Ok...

A megacity, the biggest city in North America. Wall Street, epicenter of world trades and business, a good place to go broke and wind up living on the streets like most people. NYC is not part with Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and/or Staten Is. Although most people confused it, NYC is only Manhattan, Ghettos everywhere mostly around the edges of the island. Uptown: Harlem, Spanish Harlem notorious for crack/cocaine fiends, high crime but never reported. It is also home of grea jewish population. As you go down south on the island, there are ghettos with infamous projects with high crime rates. Midtown: Tourist center of the world, you see tourists from every part of the world who are mostly ripped off or musguided on purpose, unfortunately. Downtown (SoHo, NoHo, Tribeca, LES, The Villages, Little Italy, Chinatown and the Financial District): Dangerous but only in some parts. Little Italy filled with mobsters who work with the NYPD. Chinatown, 2nd home of the bootleg DVD's after Harlem, which is the capital of bootlegs. Also home of chinese triads and gangs. The Villages as you all might know, flamboyant people aka Homosexuals. And the financial district, where money is made and people go broke afterwards. Manhattan is a tough city to live in, as the saying goes "If you make it here in NYC, you can make it anywhere". look up the rest of the 4 boroughs for definitions.

Once the capital of the United States. Apparently it was such a horrible place they moved it to some other place. NYC continues this reputation today by transporting its infestation to a paradise known as south Florida, thus ruining it forever.

Also known as NYC or "The City". Known for its lights, businesses and pizza. Most overrated city in the world. Everyone is rude and so obsessed with their own life. The winter season is brutally cold although Christmas time is nice. Extremely expensive. Great theater (Broadway and off broadway). Great outdoors such as central park and botanical gardens. Many music festivals in the summer. Really a combination of 5 big cities connected by bridges, highways and tunnels. Nowhere near as great as Los Angeles. Very densely populated. The city is very cold hearted and survival is difficult which is why its called the concrete jungle. Home to arguably the best parade ever in the labor day parade. Worth a long vacation but not living and paying the ridiculous amount of money real estate agents pocket for a shitty apartment or sharing an apartment with roommates. Endless amount of things to do. Great public transportation and awful traffic. City life is go go go. If you're a laid back person nyc is not for you. People will giveyou dirty looks for walking slow.
Person 1: Yo, we out to da City. New York City .
Person 2: Na, fuck that it's too cold. We out to Miami. The lion king on Broadway could wait.
Person 1: copy, its more hoes in Miami anyway.
